This week, CAWGW has written to Peredur Owen Griffiths MS to offer its help on his Members Legislative Proposal on responsible dog ownership. On Wednesday, Peredur Owen Griffiths MS tabled a Legislative Proposal to promote responsible dog ownership in Wales, as well as the development of new guidance for anyone who wants to own certain dog breeds.

 

This proposal was met with overwhelming support in the Senedd, with unanimous approval from Members. Lesley Griffiths MS, Minister for Rural Affairs, North Wales and Trefnydd, also noted that action on dog licensing should move forward, and that the Welsh Government may carry out a consultation.

 

CAWGW welcomes this debate and looks forward to working with Members of the Senedd on responsible dog ownership in the future.
